Getting Started

First, request a free quote! This connects you with your local The Spider Guys team, who will help design a tick control program tailored to your yard. You’ll have two main options to choose from: a liquid pest control application or tick tubes.

Option 1: Liquid Pest Control

Once you’re signed up for a treatment plan, one of our technicians will visit your property to apply a liquid pest control treatment. This can be done on its own or as part of a lawn care program.

For best results, we apply a long-lasting insecticide along property edges and around key areas such as dog houses, kennels, sidewalks, pathways, or patios. Ticks often hang out near forested areas, stone walls, ornamental plants, or overgrown spots in your yard, so we’ll make sure to treat those areas too. If you’ve got pets, we’ll also target locations where they spend time, like bedding areas or favorite resting spots.

Option 2: Tick Tubes

Tick tubes are an innovative solution that works by targeting ticks in their larval and nymph stages. Here’s how they work: mice, which are major carriers of disease-ridden ticks, take cotton from the tubes to use in their nests. The cotton is treated with a tick-killing agent that’s harmless to humans, pets, and the mice themselves. When ticks feed on the mice, they ingest the chemical, which kills them.

Tick tubes essentially transform mice from tick carriers into tick eliminators. They’re simple to use, environmentally friendly, and super effective at getting rid of ticks in hard-to-reach places where sprays can’t always penetrate.

We recommend wearing long sleeves, pants, and close-toed shoes when walking through wooded or overgrown areas. After any outdoor activity, check your clothes, body, and hair for ticks – remember, they can be as tiny as a poppy seed! Don’t forget to inspect your pets, too – ticks often latch onto their fur, ears, and paws.
